As Sophie has already explained digi-packs are the covers on a CD. They are used to protect the CD but also to show the different songs that are on the CD and also a vision of what the artist/band look like or what they feel the album represents. Here are a few examples of digi-packs that previous students have made:
This particular digi-pack is good because it shows the artist in the pictures. This helps the audience to get to know who the artist is and therefore then link them with the songs that are on the CD to understand what the artist's genre is and what they are all about.
In this digi-pack I believe that the pictures show a lot about the songs that are on the CD. From looking at this I can see that the song will be quite slow because the pictures are of the artist on their own in the frame. Whereas, if this song had have been fast and upbeat then I believe the pictures would have had more people in the frame and it would be more lively. On the down side, the far right picture where it has the writing, it is hard to read and therefore when making our digi-pack I think we should make sure that everything in the pictures are clear in what they are meant to show, and that everything can be read with ease.
Lastly, I believe that this digi-pack is the most effective because it looks like it has could be a real digi-pack for a real artist's CD cover. The thing that I like most about it is that the lighting and colour has been changed into a sepia tone, which I believe is very effective in making a mood that is to be shared with the audience through the songs. Also the writing on the third picture looks good because it has been played around with so it is edgy and different from normal fonts.
When making our digi-pack I believe we should focus mainly on the colours of the pictures and also in making sure the songs can be read on the pictures. Also, the digi-pack has to reflect the song that is on the CD so we will have to come up with a few ideas whilst we are in the making stage of the music video.
